Every year I go to a lot of conferences. For each and every one I fumble at the last moment to figure out a schedule that will be there, etc. when I get there, I trade business cards that I never look at again just because there are hundreds of them and not a good way to order this information. Logistics surrounding just visit are a pain. And so much more pain when you helped put actually one together. Enter The Bloodhound.

Bloodhound is a new mobile applications, launching today that aims to ease the pain of the Conference is for all exhibitors and visitors. Simplified One way to think about it, investor, Dave McClure likes to say that this "real-time" where is Waldo "conferences".

This is actually a bit surprising that one application had not caught on in this space even pain points. Most people see in how to use a more general location services like Foursquare or the broader planning activities as Plancast. Or worse yet, the organizers of the event are increasingly trying to get you to upload your own custom one-time application for their Conference. It's annoying because you're usually on my phone at one or two days and then delete them forever. Therefore, the prospect of maintaining some potentially valuable data is Nada.

Bloodhound focuses specifically on major events/conferences together. They want to be the one app you are using for each. To make that happen, they give anyone (ideally, the organizer of the event, but it could just be party too) simple Web tool for adding events in their catalog. After you do this, you can enter more detailed information or if it is publicly available, Bloodhound will look to create a comprehensive event for their application.

As soon as the information in the application, shines as a way to access and trade information leading up to and at the event. You meet someone out there that you would like to connect with at a later date? Instead of trading cards, why not use the app to follow them on LinkedIn or Facebook. Or you can simply shoot them an email with your information in advance with a single click of the mouse.

Bloodhound also focuses on real-time recommendations for things you can to a specific event. For example if he knows that you attended the event earlier this year with some types of manufacturers, it may recommend that you check out some of the sessions at the event, which you currently attend. They can do it because they're more than a single app.

As you can imagine, these recommendations, as well as connections are interesting as exhibitors at the event. In the meantime, the promotion of the events themselves within the app will be interesting for conference organizers. There are certainly potential income for Bloodhound down the line.

Company over the past six months, on a small number of events to test their application in private beta. There are currently over 300 events use Bloodhound, with more than 1000, it is expected that in the next month. Today see the start of their iPhone app, as well as the basic Android and BlackBerry applications. They will also have full HTML5 mobile site is key, because they don't want to just a certain percentage of participants in the Conference with a single type of device access.
