Yipit, a site that collects and recommends daily transactions, based on custom field and interests (6 million dollars and raised back in June with many VCs), released some interesting data trends today on daily transaction space. In General, July was not a memorable month for the industry daily deals, although there have been several clear winners, including all your favourite transaction site, big kahuna Groupon.

Based on data collected from more than 650 daily transactions services, Yipit discovered that the industry's total revenue fell in July to 7% in North America's largest markets — in spite of a slight overall increase proposals. The data also shows that the number of daily deals sites, decreased slightly in July, with 38 sites of deals, closing their doors, compared with 36 new sites launched.

While the big players, according to the report, Groupon in revenue decreased 4% from June, as, unlike the income fell by LivingSocial significant 18 per cent. Although the gap has widened its Groupon rival in July, income both companies declined by more than 20% in the first half of July, compared with the first half of June. However, although the Groupon in revenue in the second half of July have actually increased in the second half of June, LivingSocial has declined. Also note: Groupon more than twice the gross revenue than LivingSocial. Not a good month for Groupon in competitor.

As one might expect on the previous data, Groupon nabbed a little market share at the expense of its competitor, reversing a trend that persisted over the past several months. Groupon thus continues to maintain his iron grip on the proportion of the total market, representing almost 50 per cent of the total daily transaction market, more than doubled to 21 percent, LivingSocial and so much more than the next opponent in the list, Travelzoo and currently make up only 5 percent of the market.

GroupOn also owned a high gross transactions in July, the report said, as his Photoboom of America decide to generate income in the top 30 $575,505 North American markets. GroupOn and LivingSocial dominated the top ten gross is seen in space, six of the top 10, compared with four for LivingSocial.

Other interesting data points include the fact that, despite its relatively small chunk of market share, compared with the top dogs, Travelzoo, continued to actively expand its "local transaction", offering an increasing number of transactions available in the top 30 North American markets on 48 percent, record revenue growth of more than 35 per cent.

And it seems that just as Google you must mention in seemingly every other industry trend report, search giant is now find their way into daily transactions statistics as well as Google offers "to continue to have a significantly lower prices and revenue from a transaction than Groupon, LivingSocial deals" or according to the report. In doing so, while Google offers the average number of vouchers was only slightly less than Groupon and LivingSocial, income from transaction was significantly lower.

Google offers launched in Portland, but has expanded to New York and San Francisco. Of course while Google plans to begin making waves in new towns, especially in view of the fact that the report notes that Google offers fought in Portland in July, the creation of less that 10 per cent of the income that Groupon in Portland in July.

But perhaps the big winner in daily space "travel deals" websites, which continued to grow in July accounted for six of the top 10 deals in July — and became the third largest daily deal category with travel deals, accounting for six of the top 10 deals and almost 15 per cent of income in the industry.

Mark, with the support of the Cuban AskMen JungleCents Ushers in space daily deals

During the grinding operation, the transition in the digital era publishing industry grasping at straws to find ways to grow its revenue models. Even when the time marches on, publishing companies, in General, continue to struggle with most effectively monetize their content and add more (or even primary) income. JungleCents, Mark Cuban support for the launch, with a men's lifestyle magazine, AskMen in daily transactions space in an attempt to help publishing to use additional sources of revenue — all thanks to the vouchers.

As the TC Alexia Tsotsis wrote back in October, a la Commission Junction, JungleCents intends to attack the acquisition of customers, taking the vouchers from companies in lieu of cash and execution of these transactions on your site, as well as affiliate sites — in limited quantities for a limited time.

In connection with AskMen JungleCents offers discount on men's goods from bonobos, which offered on JungleCents but also AskMen.com. With bonobos deals customers pay $ 48 to $ 100 voucher to spend on Bonobos.com, with the deal, essentially acting as a gift card as the user does not have spent $ 100 voucher for once.

Of course AskMen is not exactly the New York Times, but the daily transactions can potentially allow content sites such as AskMen monetization in more measurable approach when you add more value to their readers, says JungleCents cofounder and CEO Samir Mehta. Sites like JungleCents could actually be good for niche publishing sites, because they can serve more targeted deals, which are relevant to the readers of the site. For example, if the reader is positioned on AskMen, men in publishing and is serviced by bargain for cheap jeans, the reader is likely to click on, say, someone else perusing the News on the New York Times.

These transactions at the bottom of this post may even go so far as to add value to content (gasp!) and give publishers a trigger for monetization. JungleCents testing this theory, the set in which they proposed a 50 per cent of the readers of Nooka watches. The deal netted a set of 9 per cent of the rate and success gave JungleCents the motivation for the other secondary niche publications.

Mehta, said that he thinks that this model is not only useful for publishers, but offers up the brands as they get access to their target demographic. He also brings their custoemr acquisition cost down because these clients (based on how they find transactions) are not deal-hungry coupon clippers, they are more likely to be brand ambassadors. Thus for brands, who are not interested in gold leaf or Groupon, AskMen bonobos model seems a better fit.

As to how the redemption of the vouchers work? Once a consumer buys a bargain at JungleCents, they get an email with a unique redemption code, which they then used to retrieve and brand in the online store. Mehta, said that he thinks that this allows brands to own their new client, unlike Flash sales that run off last season, when the consumer has no contact with the trade mark.

This is an interesting model. Check it out and let us know what you think. Please click here.

I think it's safe to say that Facebook is the leader when it comes to Collegiate and high school social networks. I hope not hurt anyone's feelings. When it comes to meeting people in College, the beer is always a good choice, or Facebook, or some might now prefer LikeALittle.

While social networking is important at any campus, there are also a few social networking tools can integrate a more useful resource for students. Take it from CampusBuddy, which offers students College social platform where they can also access the official record class and view comprehensive reviews of professors, classes, departments and campuses.

This is a great resource for high school students looking for a deeper dive in colleges, they plan to cooperate because they can use for data acquisition and real student reviews on prospective schools. Or, since CampusBuddy is the official record class for the classes (platform currently has more than 80 million marks from hundreds of institutions), students who wish to obtain more information about how hard certain classes, you can view trends data class by using a few mouse clicks. You can read our initial coverage CampusBuddy here and further coverage here.

And since its launch in 2008 was CampusBuddy to see some reliable grip on campuses in the United States is the founder and Executive Director Mike for this add-on to start telling me that, between its Web site and Facebook application, CampusBuddy more than 200 K monthly active users, with more than 1.5 million, and revenues have increased over the last year. Due to this growth CampusBuddy is launching a new initiative called CollegeBudget, which aims to provide daily deals and group buying campuses across the country. With the explosion in popularity of daily transactions said for this add-on, it was unable to miss. But, more importantly, he thinks that this is a great way for students to reduce the cost of their college experience.

In addition to student bargains, CollegeBudget expects to bring social buying every level of experience of the campus, including textbooks and student loans — and one day in the future, potentially learning. The company kicked off his official presentation with Palooza "back to school", which will be submitted to more than 100 merchants offering discount deals on 50 per cent (and above).

There are deals on admission books, posters, iPhone cases, etc. but this is only for students College; You must have a working e-mail address ".edu" to register.

Since its launch in private beta in March, CollegeBudget already has 600 K students from CampusBuddy platform and has already saved students more than $ 1 million collectively. For this add-on is telling me that he thinks that CollegeBudget will be attractive to brands looking to use the highly coveted College age demographic. The platform also invites brands social media marketing campaigns on a grant basis, prior to the signing of the advantageous offer merchants received a testimonial video student YouTube were a college student, as well as the social media explosion in the CollegeBudget-130 k plus Facebook fans and twitter followers.

CollegeBudget also clearly delivers a complete social media marketing campaign for merchants
no upfront costs. To get merchants sign up offer student transactions through CollegeBudget
Characterization of a YouTube video made by a real College, and the social media explosion in CollegeBudget
more than 130 thousand Facebook fans and twitter followers to 3000. The following is an example of a type of YouTube marketing, which is included in the platform.

This is a great resource for college students targeted discounts on things they need in school and for brands, they have a built-in access for students and CampusBuddy, which was first and foremost, make money through tutorial sales, subscriptions, and advertising, it will provide another source of income. From the perspective of the cut, which will take the CollegeBudget of transactions for this add-on is telling me that the site is trying to make the experience at dealers and will be flexible in its share in trying to accommodate a variety of industries. However, on average, it will offer merchants 60 per cent.

CampusBuddy fully initialized at this point, the founder of said and not in any hurry to raise as they "big believers in the loader. Which is a breath of fresh air. Yes, and in the Appendix: soon mobile applications CollegeBudget.

Merchants can sign up for discounts for students here.
